<body-html>
Who are you and why should I trust you?

We are the fortunate owners of a wonderful property in southern France where we have been living for five years. Time has now come for us to move out for family and professional reasons and we have decided to organize an online competition to pass this house along to other passionate people. To learn more about us and why we have embarked on this wild idea, click here
In order to strictly abide by existing regulations and provide participants with full guarantees, we have incorporated a UK limited company, Win Property Online Ltd with a registered office at which will act competition promoter The company is called Win Property Online with registered office at Highstone House, 165 High Street, Barnet EN5 5SU. The guarantees we provide are detailed here

Wait, wait, wait…what’s the catch ?

There is no catch. Just purchase one or more tickets at £25 each (or better yet, buy 4 and get the 5th for free!) to enter our spot the ball competition. Use your skills and judgment to determine where the ball is on a sports picture. Once the 20,000 tickets are sold and no later than 31 December 2009, a professional judge competition will determine where the ball is. The participant closest to the judge’s position wins full ownership of our property, free of any mortage, tax and stamp duty. It’s as simple as that !

Why do you bother with a spot the ball competition operated by a UK Limited Company ?

To provide participants with all possible guarantees for a safe, legal, secure and transparent competition. While raffles and lotteries are strictly illegal for non charity purposes, spot the ball competitions operated by UK Limited Companies have been considered by the UK Gambling Commission as games of skills and are thus authorized. We have therefore strictly duplicated a model which has been used by established companies that have been organizing such competitions for many years but for different sorts of prizes (cars in particular).

OK, you sound credible…how do I enter your competition?

You should first click on the “Enter competition” button. You will need to select the number of tickets you wish to purchase (from 1 to 4, the 5th is free if you purchase 4). You will then be shown a sports photograph that has had the ball removed from it. Each ticket purchase entitles you to selecting a point where you think, based on your skills and judgment, the centre of the ball would logically have been. Your chosen point(s) will be recorded as an X and Y coordinate.

Now that I’ve entered, how will the competition be judged?

Once the competition is closed (and only then), we will designate a professional sporting judge who will mark, in the presence of a lawyer and in exactly the same way as competition participants, where in his professional opinion he thinks the centre of the ball ought to have been. The winner will be the person who is closest to the judge’s position.
In case of a tie (i.e. two or more participants having selected points at strictly the same distance from the point chosen by the judge), a tie-break will be organized during the following week where tied participants will be asked with no extra charge to select a single point on a new spot the ball photograph online.

When and how will I know if I’m the winner?

The competition will close on 31 December 2009 at the latest or whenever before this date the 20,000 competition tickets have been distributed. A professional judge will determine where he thinks the ball is within 15 business days of competition close (we’ll try to broadcast the event live on the website). The winner will be informed immediately by email and/or telephone.

What happens if all the 20 000 tickets are not gone by the time the competition closes?

Should this (we hope unlikely) event occur by 30 June 2009, the competition will be closed…but a competition winner will be selected through the exact same procedure described above and win the total money pot collected less 14.9% of collected funds corresponding to output VAT (incurred by the fact that the promoter is a UK limited company) plus 10,000£ to cover website development and marketing costs and legal advisory fees.
What’s in it for us then? We’d essentially be back to square one (and we’ll call agents to sell our property) but we’ll have had the thrill of trying this adventure.

What are my chances of winning?

Your odds are 1 in 20,000 for a £25 ticket purchased and you can increase them to as much as 1 in 4,000 for just a total £100 (buy 4 tickets get 1 free). How does that compare with your 1 in 14 million chances to win the UK lottery…and we believe our prize is way more unique.

Will I get a receipt of my purchase?

Once you have completed your secured transaction through the Paypal website, you will automatically receive a confirmation email including your ticket number(s) and corresponding set(s) of coordinates for the ball location. Check your antispam folder if you don’t see the email in your inbox.

What does the winner have to pay for?

Apart from the competition ticket purchase, absolutely nothing. All taxes, stamp duties and solicitor fees will be covered. We will even pay for the winner’s flight ticket to come to Montpellier and sign the property transfer paperwork.

Who can enter the competition?

The competition is open to all persons aged 18 and over except Win Property Online ltd directors, employees or members of their immediate family, advisors or any other person who is connected with the creation or administration of this competition. Non UK residents should verify first that their national law does not prevent them from participating to such a competition

Does the house come furnished?

The kitchen will come fully equipped with handbuilt wooden red units blended beautifully with state of the art German eletrical equipment, namely a Liebherr fridge, a Siemens microwave and dishwasher, a professional Bosch five burners gas fired oven and a marble cooking surface. The other rooms you’ll need to furnish according to your own tastes!

When will the winner be able to move into the house ?

The property transfer signing will be organized within 20 business days of the winner being selected but no earlier than August 2009 as our son needs to finish his school year here before we move out.
</body-html>
